Well Gatti fought like an average fighter in the first and third fights with Ward, but in the 2nd fight he didn't look average to me, he was moving around the ring, using his jab moving his head, throwing fast combinations and he won the fight clearly in a very good fashion, which means that he had the ability and the skills needed to beat a guy like Ward, which makes him just a tiny step above average.
Gatti had some fuss around him cuz he was a former champion and he fought the biggest name at the time Oscar dela Hoya, I don't know if being white had something to do with this trilogy being what it is today, but I remember Rafael Marquez and Israel Vazquez almost killing each others in 4 terrific fights, but nobody mentions these fights today, there was also Barrera Morales, Corrales Castillo, Pacquiao Marquez and the list goes on and on, all these fights don't get the same praise that Gatti Ward got even though there was alot more skills involved in these fights than in Gatti Ward, but u never know.Comment

RIP Arturro, Gatti was a helluva fighter, He deserves his tribute.
The part about his daughter brought a smile to my face and that goes to show that boxing will indeed live on.
This article is about Gatti just as much as it is indirectly about FMJ, who else noticed? HahaComment

You must have missed all those people commemorating the 10th anniversary Corrales-Castillo I.Well Gatti fought like an average fighter in the first and third fights with Ward, but in the 2nd fight he didn't look average to me, he was moving around the ring, using his jab moving his head, throwing fast combinations and he won the fight clearly in a very good fashion, which means that he had the ability and the skills needed to beat a guy like Ward, which makes him just a tiny step above average.

I wanted to, but I can't even read the article. Can barely read the posts.
Gatti was murdered for his money. Maybe it was the Brazilian organized crime syndicates. Who the hell knows.
The month in which Gatti, Alexis Arguelo, and Vernon Forrest were all murdered in a single month was absolutely horrible. Not that it's about me but it was probably the worst month of my life.
Arguelo was before my time but I've watched his fights. Gatti was my favorite but I loved Forrest too.Comment

Gatti let a woman beat him to death average boxer
Gatti was a woman abuser and a drunk who let some broad kill him while Gatti slept. Gatti wasn't nothing special just a human small punching bag who bled easy and took punishment and absorbed punches till his face caved in. gatti had no defense especially when drunk and got put out by a money grubbing broad.Comment

Go haul ass with your **** talking about Gatti. He had more balls and courage, heart and desire in one finger than any of you *******s who are saying this negative ****. He was human and flawed so what? What boxer isn't? How many boxers are drunk or drug addicts or violent outside the ring? Many many of them so that means what they did in the ring didn't show something special? The greatest boxer who ever lived SRR was a violent womanizing wife beater, and what do you say about that huh? Even the cleanest living boxer today Bhop is an ex con who committed violent crimes in the past. If you don't respect Gatti for the heart and will he showed in the ring then you don't need to be on this site OR be a boxing fan.Comment
