The only hole in that theory is that the Pacquiao fight has always loomed for his biggest payday. I think Floyd needed to see a weakness in Pacquiao before he really considered taking the risk. And no, I don't think fighters are ever 'scared' of each other, they're just scared of what a loss can do to their careers. Boxing is brutal to a loser. (See Pacquiao's situation now) Always was, always will be.Comment

That's a lie and you know it.....I hear UK announcers talking about him all the time. Virtually every time a British fighter even remotely around his weight fights, GGG is mentioned.
Degale is literally completely unknown here, not even the announcers know who he is. The Groves loss killed his momentum. Now that he's got some steam beating Dirrell we will see but as on now, he's a complete unknown.
Curtis Stevens is a bigger name than Degale here.Comment

As Natas said, wtf does this mean? Dictate to Froch by moving up to 168 and travelling to the UK?!Lol. Loeffler thought he had leverage to dictate **** to Froch. Now that Froch said "get in line behind DeGale" dude is backtracking.
This is the same guy that turned his nose up at DeGale because it's not a big enough fight. Now Froch is likely going to fight DeGale in a huge event.
I see right through this guy. He's getting paid good money to match GGG up with stumblebums so he has no incentive to seek challenges.
And to think people are complaining about Haymon not matching up his fighters tough.
You know full well team GGG has sent offers to anyone they could, and has never passed on an offer. Wtf do you expect them to do?Comment

HBO money alone.... (prob somewhere near 8-10 million)
.....why?
HBO will pay handily for that fight and it will still draw good PPV across the pond in the UK.
Even if DeGale did slightly better PPV, (not a given) it still won't make it a more lucrative fight for Froch.Last edited by Boxing Goat; 07-03-2015, 03:23 PM.Comment

Money being right never came into play since none of those guys ever made an offer. Lara is zero risk anyway, he's just not gonna get on HBO for multiple reasons. Primarily, Haymon and HBO don't do business. Dunno what to think about Degale, if he makes a good offer and GGG passes, I'll **** on GGG. But that never happened and I doubt it will. The idea of the Lara and DeGale fights were both rubbished without it getting to that stage for example.
Ultimately, your hero is only willing to take certain risks when the money is right. I can't blame him for that, and you shouldn't blame other fighters for doing the same when GGG is the "victim".Comment

A year ago i tought Froch would beat Golovkin using his reach and stamina but after over a year out of the ring, and with all this meaningless talk... I have great respect for Froch but i cant see what he get from all this talk, just making himself look ******.. and now he will fight de gale? after vacating his belt cause de gale wasen't worth fighting? I guess Froch think he has max one fight left and dosent want to go out on a loss... It would be less annoying if he just said he wanted an easy farewell fight..Comment
