Not much money in cricket unless you get to England standard.

County cricket still has a lot of money, obviously not football level but more than enough to live comfortably and many cricketers get a company car.

Country players earn about 50k a year, which for an elite sportsman isn't that great imo. The big money is T20, if you're good enough to get an IPL/BigBash contract.

He'd be a mean fast bowler.

Eh? Since when does your pay determine how much of an athlete you are?

I doubt it, not without years of practise. Fast bowling is all about technique, not your physique. Take Mohammed Amir for example, he looks like a skinny rat, but bowls (or used to before he was banned) like the wind.
