I doubt it, not without years of practise. Fast bowling is all about technique, not your physique. Take Mohammed Amir for example, he looks like a skinny rat, but bowls (or used to before he was banned) like the wind.

if you're a premium athlete you can get paid doing something else. and yes, these guys care about money, and don't sacrifice their youth and early adulthood for the love of a game.

to be fair, there are no premium athletes in the shire, and joshua is only remarkable because he put on 20 lbs of lean muscle with PEDS. if you look at hishands, you see he's a smaller dude blown up with weight lifting and drugs.

You do know most sports require something called skill which can only be achieved from years of practice and natural talent? These sports aren't the NFL where being strong and fast is all you need to play.

They're talents but not the only ones, you won't get very far in most sports with those alone (apart from the NFL).

all of the best quarterbacks in football, its most important position, are the strongest and the fastest!

You've totally missed the point. Of course QBs have skill over physical attributes, but there are positions in NFL where all you need to be is big and strong. In cricket, you cannot succeed in the game with just physical attributes. Simple as that.

50k for representing teams in the county championship, separate contracts and more money representing your county side in the one day tourney or the t20 league. Add to that bat sponsorships and so on and you can be earning closer to a 100k a year as a regular county, first team professional. Thats 4 times the annual income of the average british citizen. In my eyes, thats not bad at all.

Now, add to that possible international contracts and as you said, international t20 leagues (IPL, CPL, Big Bash etc) and you have some very wealthy young men.

Obviously none of this is comparable to the inflated salaries of footballers and top level British fighters but it's still a healthy amount of money.

In terms of AJ, doubt he gives up a million pound contract to play county cricket lol but I wouldn't mind some of that cricket money coming my way.

Amir was excellent before his ban and probably only 18 or 19 in that pic. But in terms of fast bowlers, most are mean, muscular guys: Walsh, Ambrose, Akhtar, Akram and so on.

I hate comparing athletes across disciplines but pace bowlers are some of the fittest and most skilled athletes on the planet.
