I agree. A fight for the middleweight tittle should have a weight limit of 160 and not one ounce less. That has been the traditional weight for middleweight champion fights for about the last 100 years. If Cotto thinks he is too small to fight 160 pounders then he should give up the title and fight at what ever weight he wants to fight at. Cotto should not be allowed to make middleweight challengers come in at a weight below 160. It's the world middleweight title, not the world Cottoweight title. Ray Robinson, Carman Basilio and Emile Griffith were career welterweights but when they won the middleweight title they defended it at 160 and Cotto should do the same thing.
Canelo Alvarez wants the fight against Miguel Cotto to be at 156 pounds.

If these two had wanted, they could've fought for the vacant WBC JMW title!!
I really wish the WBC would just make up a token title for these guys and move their MW title back into the 160lbs division for Golovkin.
Champion Emeritus or Champion Clitorius it doesn't matter.Comment

Until GGG retires, Canelo won't leave NeloWeight.
155 is a safe haven right now for Canelo.
He don't want it. Slimfast baby!Comment

I don't really see the problem with this fight Cotto requesting 155 lbs. Canelo's last three fights were 155, plus he/his team had stated that he won't go to 160 for another two years if I remember correctly.
I understand the "hate" for the CW on geale, I wasn't on board with that, but this is a completely different situation.Comment
