I posted in the thread about venues being reserved so other promoters couldn't use them as violating unfair competition law. Those idiots fetta and big dunn said "all in da game." "Dat's how bidness works doe." "It's cutthroat doe."

These allegations are serious. They could be countersued if they were frivolous. Read the complaint, it's around 50 pages. Educate yourself instead of blindly defending Haymon.

Can you prove that the dates were reserved with the intention of preventing other promoters from using the date? The dates were cancelled but it could be explained away as not being able to honour the date.

I suspect that the claim was brought forward in an attempt to draw Al Haymon out in the open. It's possible that they are hoping his defence will reveal he is acting as both agent and promoter. All that needs be said is that the fighter was not able to honour the date given, but it could be problematic if he lets slip that he is acting as both manager and promoter.

Seeing as Haymon has a team of lawyers with more relevant legal knowledge than myself, I doubt a careless slip up like that will occur.

I don't get how the Ali act works here? I thought that was a fighters protection against a promoter. The fighters aren't really even signed to a contract binding them to Haymon, they can leave when they want like Andre Dirrell did some time back. Can't wait to see how this plays out. Hopefully Haymon keeps the court process going on and on, while TR/GB makes limited profit until they eventually have to give up.

The Ali Act push came about because folks saw what Don King was doing to fighters, and the government finally stepped up to try and curtail that.

Ali Act made it illegal for a fighter's manager to work for a promoter (since the manager is the only party with an enforceable fiduciary duty to the fighter) and it made it illegal for a manager to also stage the fight/promote a fighter (think Carl Frampton being managed by Barry McGuigan, while also fighting for Barry McGuigan's promotional company, Cyclone Promotions).

It's funny how Haymon being on the verge of re-visioning the sport of boxing has so many people, out in public, standing up for and defending an admitted liar and crook.

Maybe you dont understand the implications here? If the suit is correct, Haymon is driving out all competitors by overpaying everybody. This will in time put other promotors out of business and suddenly Haymon has a monopoly. In a monopoly its the monopolist who sets the prices.

Yep just like the lawsuit Trump and the USFL won against the NFL. The reward from the courts $1.00. Do some research. Bob Arum is on the outs with HBO. Haymon has non compete time buys with every major network that carrys sports other than HBO. Arum is officially out of business.

Why do I need to prove anything? I'm not litigating the case. You should email OMM attorneys and ask them if you're interested in an answer.

You should read up on the adversarial system. American jurisprudence is a bit different than whatever country you're in.

My guess is it became pretty clear there lawsuit wasnt going anywhere.
