For several years he was THE MAN in boxing!

Promoting all the biggest stars in the sport and doing amazing wonders for his top tier clients.

He was pretty much the man in control of the heavyweight division having signed all the best stars in the weight class.

Look what he did for Tito Trinidad and all the other smaller weight class stars.

Did Don King just get old over night and lost the fire to be the top man in the game? It seems everything he's been through so has Top Rank and even now Golden Boy yet DKP is like no where on the level it once was or near the level of TR, GB or even PBC.

      So what happened exactly?
Buster Douglas knocking out Mike Tyson and Bernard Hopkins wrecking Felix Trinidad.

With those two events, Don King lost his stranglehold on the money division of the sport (Douglas getting blasted out by Main Event's Evander Holyfield meant that King could no longer dictate everything run through him) and no longer controlled the Latin fighter that had the heart of the Latin communities at large (people ignore the point now, but a lot of folks south of the border took a really long time to forgive Oscar for the beating that he put on El Gran Campeon).

Once King could no longer called every shot, fighters saw that they didn't really have to just go to Don King, so the talent went elsewhere.

He has a reputation for ****ing fighters over, it's got to a point where people have more sense than going with him, it's mainly the guys who are desperate that sign with him.

Everyone sues TR too tho but they still here and on top.

                Donaire, Chavez, Mikey Garcia.

Oscar left TR, Floyd left TR. but TR still holding it down.

Don king fell when the heavy weights fell off. He never care too much about the little guys. Boxing is a small man's sport now.
