So if it were Floyd losing and needing a ko to win and he had his man hurt like that and the ref jumped in would you be saying the same thing?

Of course it must be ruled as a "no contest" -- I said this on Sunday.

A very overlooked point, Mak. It's important that we limit the amount of "Vargas talk" in NSB. SPECIFICALLY on Mondays.

This is going to end up costing a Bradley a win that he deserves.
It wasn't any of the opponents' fault, it was the ref's error. But the fight must be ruled as a no contest. Otherwise it would become a 'habit'...

Even if there was the whole round left Bradley wasn't getting stopped.

i predicted Vargas was gonna knock Bradley down sometime during the fight, he kept catching Bradley with counters early in the fight and they were having effects on Bradley, the veteran and greatness of Bradley adjusted and changed the fight up, throughout the entire middle rounds Vargas was just waiting to counter and that's a no-no, a fighter that waits to counter is simply sacrificing his chances for a win and sacrificing himself from missing the counter and getting hurt, Vargas finally caught him with that counter but way too late, Vargas didn't do anything whatsoever to change his approach to the fight once he saw something was working for him early, and Bradley showed who the better fighter was but Bradley also showed his biggest flaw in putting that well deserved hard work/win on the line, Vargas makes a good point and it's Bradley's fault for putting all that work on the line in that last exchange

People are not using common sense here. The guy is Bradley, who got up after getting rocked by Provo for, what, 2-4 times? And you expect to see the opposite let alone with a few seconds remaining? Why?

Vargas shouldn't have reacted quickly and instead say, "Are you sure?" The ref's signal was interpreted as a stoppage, instead of the end of the fight. And why did Vargas interpreted it as such? Vargas was moving backwards without throwing any in the entire fight. Even when he knew he was way behind in the scorecards in the later rounds. His skill level is clearly not prime time material. Vargas would probably do well against Broner or any fellow hype job out there.

Yeah, I get it. It sucks for Bradley. And it is 100% a bailout for Vargas.
