Explain please because Chris Eubank was nothing like James Toney in boxing style,Toney was made for the style of Eubank and Jones jr. by being planted in the middle. Eubank was a slippery boxer who relied on reflexes, whereas Toney was an in-the-pocket fighter.Last edited by Orange Sneakers; 04-03-2006, 11:53 AM. -
Oh and the uppercut that Eubank crippled Watson with was more impressive than Tarvers shot on RJJ,quick and brutal.
Eubank needed to be provoked like he was in Benn 1 and Watson 2,and if anybody could bring out the animal in him it was Roy Jones jr.Comment

im well aware of their differnt styles, thanks, but i think roy with his speed and reflexes would keep chris off him and land combinations and a few big shots and win almost every round. if eubank vs roy is going to be a battle of the reflexes, roy would winOriginally posted by Pugilistic_PolarbearExplain please because Chris Eubank was nothing like James Toney in boxing style,Toney was made for the style of Eubank and Jones jnr by being planted in the middle. just bc i said roy would win every round like he did against toney doesnt mean toney and eubank have similar styles.
take gatti and zab. different styles, but i still think floyd would ko them both in the mid rounds...get what im saying?Comment

Eubank had the best reflexes of any boxer Ive ever seen,he could reach and stretch for a punch from such long distance and the moment the punch landed he was swaying out of range again. He would sway from the waist and was so difficult to deal with it when he did that stuff. But I do agree that Eubank wouldnt of been able to outpoint RJJ,its difficult to see with Eubanks lack of stamina, low punch output and RJJs pure speed and awesomeness.Last edited by Orange Sneakers; 04-03-2006, 12:02 PM.Comment

im sorry, i copied it word by word...Originally posted by Pugilistic_PolarbearThat extract you have taken from the biog has the wrong wording in places.
It actually reads 'unlike one such charactor who came onto the scene at the end of my era',for example. Its not that difficult to type it as it reads, instead of changing the wording here and there.
If you do not believe, i suggest you buying the actual book....
Infact i recommend it, its great.Comment

tarver caught roy open mouthed and backing up. it was a great shotOriginally posted by Pugilistic_PolarbearOh and the uppercut that Eubank crippled Watson with was more impressive than Tarvers shot on RJJ,quick and brutal.

and id say both herol grahm and rjj had better reflexes than eubankComment

as far as reflexes go, I think roy jones is in pretty good shape, in fact at 168 he used to step in land a COMBO and step out.Originally posted by Pugilistic_PolarbearEubank had the best reflexes of any boxer Ive ever seen,he could reach and stretch for a punch from such long distance and the moment the punch landed he was swaying out of range again.Comment

RJ definitely had the ability to outbox Eubank & would've if they fought in their prime. I could see RJ hurting him bad to the body with his left hooks. As far as Toney fighting Eubank, I think that Toney would be able to catch up to him late. Toney was/is a great body puncher that could cut the ring off very effectively. Toney has a great chin so I couldn't see Eubank hurting him or keeping him off for the whole fight. If Benn could land great body punches against Eubank in their fight Toney would've stopped him with his better offensive arsenal/technique.Comment
