Why did Dariusz Michalczewski vs Roy Jones Jr not happen?

DM was a ***head who just happened to be lineal champ. he didnt want the fight. he wanted more money than was physically possible.

Somewhere between the Del Vale and the Telesco fight. The HBO cameras stayed on him for some time after Jones had won the fight.

Both guys were monsters who were in their prime at pretty much the same time, why exactly didn't it take place and who would have won.

Anyone who followed boxing during Jones' prime knows the answer to this question. Jones refused to fight outside of the U.S. because he was robbed of a gold medal during the Olympics in Korea. Jones said numerous times that he would fight Michalczewski if he came to the U.S. to fight Jones. Michalczewski refused to fight outside of Germany, where he knew he could get a gift decision or gift stoppage (of his opponent) regardless of how poorly Michalczewski may have fought.

That dumb ass from HBO, Larry Merchant, used to pretend like he never heard Roy Jones say this.. He used to ask Jones after every fight, Why won't you fight Michalzewski?" Jones gave him the same answer every time and Merchant would ask the same question after the next Jones fight as if he never heard the answer before. This is one of many reasons why I always hated Larry Merchant.

It was the Virgil Hill fight. But he wasn't interviewed, nor did he step thru ropes.
