I agree. Brook's performance against Porter - by far his best win - was unimpressive. He did nothing but grab and hold in the first half of the fight. Most welterweights are overrated because it's a popular division.

Yea, but I like both of those fights and Ali probably isn't worse than Chaves plus is a different style. Bradley would obviously want something bigger than a Saddam Ali fight though.

Plenty of other dudes he would work great with shame those aren't options for him.

      • Tim Bradley's a great fighter. A gritty, hardworking overachiever.

Wins over Miguel Vazquez, Witter in England, Holt, undefeated Peterson, undefeated Alexander, Provodnikov, and JMM.

Unified JWW twice, by far his better weight class. Top notch champion and a good guy.

The thread is about Timothy Bradley's rating as a fighter.
Then again, Brook was never a runaway #1 in a weightclass like Bradley at 140. He was rated way too high (with only Floyd and Pac above him) for a long time with a putrid resume, faaar weaker than Bradley's.

Nevermind Brooks weak resume, just taking exception to you calling Vargas **** and ****ting on Bradleys dominant win over him.

Bradley was never a "runaway #1" at his weight class. He and Khan both held two titles and all he did was "run away".

            • Overrated? I don't think so. But Class A Level ? Maybe not too. Bradley took a risk in fighting Vargas because he had nothing to gain from that fight. Giving him a rematch is crazy, he beat the hell out of that pretender: http://previews.throwdownfantasy.com...radley-vargas/

              • Lucky only once. But a HUGE once that was. Weren't for that, he'd be in the pack with Thurman, Maidana, Porter, Khan and all the non Pac-May boys.

                • Bradley has a great record. People ****ting on him for beating an undefeated fighter?? Maybe none of us thought much about Jessie Vargas but he was still a titleholder and undefeated, it's not like this is a dude coming off a loss or a knockout or something.

Nobody is calling Bradley a master counterpuncher or whatever the clowns were referring to on page 1. Everyone knows he isn't exceptionally powerful or fast. He's a great fighter because he's versatile and determined. Those attributes are what has gotten him to the top.

Bradley is a great fighter and probably already has his HOF ticket punched. Maybe he's not the top 3 pound-for-pound fighter in the world but it's hard to say that he's not top 10. He's the third-best welterweight right now with a record that speaks for itself.

He had promotional issues which is why the Khan fight didn't happen. And this year Khan was offered money to fight Bradley and even got called out publicly by the IBF for declining, but don't let that stop you from saying Bradley ducked Khan for the next four years.

Jessie Vargas is an average boxer and a paper champion, who had arguably lost against Novikov and Khabib. Bradley was supposed to dominate him and except for the last round, that's what he did.
