I remember Thurman saying before that he's been studying Mayweather's techniques. I'd love to see him get a shot at Floyd. He's been hyped up as a possible opponent every since before the first Maidana fight.
Even though he'll most likely get robbed, I can definitely see Thurman beating Mayweather.

There are a number of fighters who could potentially expose Khan at welter.I spent my night looking at two past fights
1. Mayweather vs. Cotto
2. Mayweather vs. Canelo
I can put my head on a block that no one between 140 and 154 beats Floyd.
People are about to go crazy to see Cotto vs Canelo but they are not remembering how easily Floyd took both of them apart. Neither Cotto or Canelo are asking for a rematch and there is a good reason for not asking for it.
I hope he gives Amir Khan a chance in September so that the world can see that Amir Khan is not as good as many feel.
That is why he wont fight them.
Why should Mayweather waste his last fight by giving Khan an undeserved payday?
Or Thurman for that matter ?Comment

The rumors aren't true. Thurman was perfectly fine to fight Alexander, but Haymon decided to match Alexander up with Khan instead and Thurman never heard a word about the fight. Porter seems the same situation. Both guys expected it, Haymon decided he wanted them in other fights.if u really wanted to fight floyd why are u not fighting better opposition. if the rumors are true he has turned down porter, alexander, peterson, and others. i dont know i just dont get it personally. Though i think thurman is just another fighter that doesnt beat floyd unless floyd age catches up but would make sense if he got himself a big win. guerrero was a big win but hes gone backwards since and even guerrero was not even close to the same fighter he used to be
Thurman's explanation of why the Alexander fight didn't happen and Porter's explanation about why Thurman didn't happen were really, really similar. Both guys said they were down for the fight, they expected it, but after a certain point they stopped hearing about it.Comment

My earlier observation was correct.Floyd's fight with Cotto was definitely not easy. Cotto made him work for most of those rounds and he took some hard hits to nose and mouth. I think even Floyd said that was one of his toughest fights.
Floyd has truly looked unimpressive in his last three fights (one can even make an argument that he didn't even win his most recent one) and none of them tells us how well he does against skilled natural welterweights (like Thurman, Porter, or Brook).
What a toolbag kid !Comment

Oh jesus, go play in traffic foolio !
Thurman does not deserve the fight because he has not yet earned it, and because he is fighting Collazo next, so has no chance to earn it before September.
The truth, is the very opposite of your post.

Except he didn't beat Pacquiao and there's evidence shown on video.
Sorry but I'm sticking with the truth. Not letting Floyd fool me with his fake image. He got a gift decision against Pacquiao and that's the truth.
Thurman would give Floyd one heck of a fight with his hand speed, power, and movement. Saying Floyd would easily beat Thurman is a joke itself. As a matter of fact, saying he beats any of them easily is a joke.Skilled natural welterweight? And you name Brook, Porter and thurman? That has to be a joke lol... Brook and thurman would have zero chance, Brook is economical with his punches, doesn't have the experience of fighting at a bigger stage expect for the Porter fight, Thurman is wide and open all day long, he is too green with limited experience too, Porter is the only one out of the 3 that I would give thumbs up and that's because of his bull-like style... Fighting Thurman would be a joke and the easiest fight at welterweight right now for TBE.
One can make an argument that Pacquiao won. You've got to be in denial to think otherwise.
Quit acting scared like Floyd. Thurman has earned his shot a long time ago (especially after just beating Robert Guerrero). I don't want to hear any excuses for Floyd.Last edited by Mr. Punch-Out!!; 06-28-2015, 10:33 PM.Comment
