The problem Larry is that posters are confused as to the nature of Ward's success.....It has to have something to do with race....naturally!!! is it the resilant African American geneology of his mom? or the Irish fighting man gene of his daddy Frank? Ward does make a point of specifically mentioning his father and mother and their racial descent but this hardly makes him part of a different dominant subculture than the African American culture in oakland and in this country.

Light skin does have consequences in African American culture but it does not make somoene not black.
