He said he was going to go with a Brooks & DeGale double header and that one of them would be in a major fight. My personal wish is for DeGale/Golovkin. I think Brooks/Rios is just going to be a beatdown on Rios.
That's a good point. It would be a tape delay on HBO, so it would clash with the Mayweather PPV. In that case, can he face any high profile US based fighter on September 12th? The best bet would be showtime again but the Dan fight did bad numbers so they might not be keen.

It wouldn't clash with a Mayweather fight. Because the fight would come on at 4pm eastern time here in america.
Floyd fights at 11 pm eastern time.
It's perfect for an hbo afternoon telecast live from the uk.
Matchroom Sport is running a show at the O2, in London on September 12th. Severale weeks ago, Hearn made it rather clear, depending on how certain things shakeout, the O2 show will feature a big UK fight and Anthony Joshua taking a step up.
Joshua-Wach is a meaningful fight for Sept 12th, but that's the only new bit.
If Brook gets the Mayweather fight, the Sept 12th O2 show gets headlined by James Degale(c) vs Smith/Rebrasse or Fielding/Vera winner, with Joshua-Wach as the chief support with British fights under that (with the timing of things, the full O2 event would be on PPV, with the full Mayweather-Brook card following it).
If Brook doesn't get the Mayweather fight, he headlines the O2 show, with Joshua-Wach as the chief support. (with the UK PPv exclusively focused on UK fights)
