  • Comments Thread For: Andre Ward Still Mulling Final Decision on Weight Class

WBA super middleweight champion Andre Ward (28-0, 15KOs) returned on Saturday night, and wiped out Paul Smith in nine rounds at the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California. It was Ward's first fight since November of 2013, when he won a twelve round decision over Edwin Rodriguez.

The fight with Smith took place at a catch-weight of 172-pounds and raised questions as to War's future weight division.

A few days ago, on BoxingScene.com, Ward's trainer Virgil Hunter said his boxer would remain at 168.

That's what's up. I hope to see Ward bring his bag of tricks up to Montreal, or a fight with Kovalev! Fingers crossed for the move up to 175...

        Dude,

I don't care which it is, but as a Bay Area boy and a big fan, please find somebody that is generally regarded as scary and whoop his @ss.

        Thank you very much.

I THINK THE BETTER FIGHTS ARE AT 168 FOR NOW..
KOVALEV, PASCAL, AND HOP AT 175 JUST NOT ENOUGH

WHEN U GOT GGG AT 160..AND THE 168 CLASS IS YOUTHFUL AND TALENTED IMO..DEGALE, DIRRELL'S, BADU JACK, GROVES....i'd love to see ggg ward before i see kovalev ward..and if ward goes to 175 noway he gets a ggg fight..but im sure ggg moves up to 168 soon after

What are you smoking Dude? Why would Ward fight Kovalev in Montreal?

I would like to see him move to 175 as Triple-G is not ready to fight him.

Bring these guys on in this order

            Pascal
            Stevenson
            Beterbiev
            Kovalev

he didnt say fight Kovalev in Montreal. He meant fight Pascal, Beterbiev, or Stevenson in Montreal as all 3 are based from there.

Wonder if PBC will work with Roc Nation. Otherwise that has a major effect on what weight he fights at

You've posted over 300 times about Golovkin in the past 48 hours

It's a really good fight one of the best in the sport. Ward is going to stay at 168 and I'm sure they'll fight next year.
