No one would care, his critics will critique things like the weight and his perfromance vs GGG, his fans will still be his fans. So there's no point in fighting GGG, a non HOF fighter, old, no significant names, no significant feats, no actual fanbase from his country, won his title vs a weak unknown opponent, Milton Nunez or something like that. There's just no point in this fight.
So fighting cotto or canelo again would add more to Floyd's legacy, than figthing the best 160lb fighter in the world? Just admit that you want to see Floyd cherry pick a title from two fighters that he's already beaten, for some b*ll**** claim of being the lineal middlewieght champ, without having to fight the best at that weight. That just pathetic.

That's why some keep asking for the fight. Its a win win in their eyes-either Floyd loses or they can say GGG was drained when he beats him.

Straight up Floyd will not fight GGG, the comments he made about fighting him at 150, 148 shows he doesn't want GGG at the weight limit he holds 2 belts at.

Floyd should just have a decent opponent to fight for his last one. Let him go off in the sun, he has made him CREAM.

Why should Floyd have to fight ggg?

The guy fought pacquaio on fight night weighing a buck 50

Real reason people want the fight is so that they can see Floyd lose. It's irrefutable and clear as day.

Ggg's team using Floyd's name to promote themselves.

They constantly say how ggg is so avoided . this is just a ploy to make it look like Floyd is ducking ggg. You wanna call it ducking then go ahead.

But let's be realistic, a Floyd vs ggg fight is ridiculous. It's like Bradley vs ggg . Look at the comments in the Bradley ggg thread and compare them to the ones here, then you'll see the hate for Floyd is the motive behind people calling for this fight

If you are being marketed as a beast then do things which reflect that. Don't pick on welterweights.

Or be straight up with the fans and say every move you make is because of money .

Avoid ward - too high risk for the reward

The rehydration clause was to be 154lbs the day of the fight, which is BS. 10lbs I could see, but Floyd was around 160lbs in the ring vs Pacquiao.

Who hasn't called out Floyd. Hopkins and Ward both offered to drop down to 160 for a Floyd fight. Difference here is Golovkin is offering to fight Floyd at a weight class Floyd's competed in 3x already, and if the story is legit he's agreeing to essentially do a same day weigh-in.

I don't know if Golovkin's really trying to cut down to 154 in hopes of getting this, but I hope it's not true. I remember when Paul Williams did the same thing. He was calling out Floyd & Manny, then had the rematch with Sergio at 157lbs in order to keep low and made history. In all likelihood this is talk is just a publicity stunt like the Dela Hoya and Bradley talk.

And without the belt its still NOT OK because

                    154.1 - 160 is middleweight

                    Canelo last 3 fights - 155 limit

                    Cotto last 2 fights - 159 and 157 limits

Both of these are above 154 limit of LM.

Why cant these two clowns pick 1 division out of the fcuking 17 instead of making a new one, if you cant make 154 then go to 160 and stop draining others there.

Catchweights are only okay if they are between 2 boxers from different divisions e.g. Ward-GGG at 164.

Catchweights between GGG-Canelo/Cotto would be fine if Canloe/Cotto's last fight was at LMW but its not.
GGG would be mandatory for the winner of Alvarez/Cotto so he wouldn't have to worry about a CW for either of them.

It will be a case of defend the title at 160 or be stripped.

Even tho it won't happen. This would be a easy neg between HBO and Showtime Floyd would get 90-10 to 85-15 split vs GGG. He doesn't have the power to demand anything like Manny did or in the Lewis/Tyson fight. All HBO would do is put there logo on the PPV.
