  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Jacobs Enjoys Being Both Boxer and Commentator

When “Premier Boxing Champions” airs on ESPN on Aug. 1, two of the fighters being featured will be people who audiences have seen at ringside and heard during broadcasts.

One is welterweight Paulie Malignaggi, who will face Danny Garcia in the main event. But while Malignaggi’s worn both boxing gloves and television headsets for some time, Daniel Jacobs is newer when it comes to the latter.

Jacobs will face Sergio Mora on the Garcia-Malignaggi undercard at Barclays Center in Brooklyn, New York. He first served as a guest analyst in April 2014, when Malignaggi fought Shawn Porter on Showtime. More recently, he’s been on PBC broadcasts either as an analyst or as a ringside reporter speaking about what fighters’ corners were saying between rounds. [Click Here To Read More]

I don't care for him much as a fighter (just not interested; I loved it when Pirog KHTFO), but I like his ringside analysis. He can talk well.

If Jacobs eventually makes a career as an analyst, it would be no surprise to me as he is both intelligent and articulate.

What's not to like about Jacobs, he's generally a fun action fighter. His career is finally going to take off now that he's fighting more often and against better opposition.

People actually enjoy his commentating? His voice is so boring. Rather see Sergio Mora commentating duties.

This guy beat cancer. For that alone he gets my respect.

He called out Nes for claiming he was milking his cancer story.

Slowly but surely he will step up his comp. Him vs GGG at the end of 2016 would be fun.
