British superstar Amir Khan (31-3, 19KOs) is scratching his head after receiving word that Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) is considering a year-end world title defense of his WBO/WBA/WBC belts against either Andre Berto or Karim Mayfield.
While very few believe it, Mayweather has named Berto and Mayfield in several interviews as the two potential opponents for his final career fight on September 12th at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.
“Everywhere I go fans ask me only one question: When are you fighting Floyd? I was at the Boxing Hall of Fame the other week and everyone kept asking me the same question,” Khan said to The National.
