I don't think Garcia is particularly elite or not elite. He is the lineal 140 champ, and he's moving up.

I don't think his win against Peterson was amazing but it wasn't particularly controversial to need a rematch IMO.

I do agree Peterson could have won if he did more, but he didn't. So I don't think Garcia owes anyone a rematch because their opponent didn't capitalize when they had their chance.

I appreciate your classy response BTW. Why people on here talk to strangers they never met rudely just because they disagree about an aspect of a sport is beyond me.

The Peterson fight is definitely unfinished business in my eyes. Whilst wins against Matthysse, Khan and Judah made him #1 at 140, I only advocate moving up when you have truly cleaned up the division or if you are killing yourself to make weight. That means taking care of the contenders that emerge whilst you are top of the tree.

Crawford and Provodnikov would be bouts that if taken would further cement Garcia as the true #1 light welterweight.

Swear once Mayweather is gone a ton of these fighters will have been chasing a shadow by moving up to 147.
This is the donkey post of the day. I am one of the biggest Danny Garcia haters but you really think the Peterson fight is unfinished business? Peterson literally did almost nothing the first 8 rounds but dance around the ring trying to make Garcia miss, which worked many times but he was also getting tagged and offering nothing back in return. Secondly, Danny Garcia has been at the top of the division for awhile now. Why does he have to keep sticking around to clean out every top fighter who moves up from other divisions? He is both killing himself to make weight and has also been the top guy at 140 for a long time. Why shouldn't he move up to 147? I think he gets his ass handed to him at 147 but he cant even make 140 anymore and hasn't defended his 140 lb belts since he fought Herrera. Time to get off the pot and let the 140 lbers who want the titles to fight for them
