Comments Thread For: Shawn Porter: Julio Diaz is Tougher Than Adrien Broner

Former welterweight champion Shawn Porter (26-1-1, 16KOs) is back at the top his division, after winning a twelve round unanimous decision over Adrien Broner on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas.

Porter praised Broner as being a good, tough fighter. He also rates veteran and former champion Julio Diaz as being a tougher fighter.

He faced Diaz two times. The first time Porter fought him to a ten round draw in 2012, and then set the record straight with a wide ten round decision in 2013.

Porter fought much smarter against Broner than the first time around against Diaz. I was going for Porter but he simply couldn't just freely pressure like he usually does

Considering Broner dropped him, I'm not sure, but then again the drop looked more like a flash knockdown in that he was bouncing around when Broner caught him. Other than that, Broner didn't do jack the entire fight and just made it ugly as hell with all that holding.

I like Porter but he's a typical limited pressure fighter. He can outwork you and outpunch you if you don't do anything like Broner did, but if you have a fighter that can control a pressure fighter and give a fight back, that's when Porter becomes mediocre as Kell Brooks did.

So there we have it, Porter confirmed Julio Diaz is tougher than Broner. Broner got beat by Maidana who then got the Mayweather fight while Khan beat Diaz, Collazo, Alexander and Algieri and Floyd still running like there aint no tomorrow

Duckin @ss muthaphuckas need to quit that ****. End of

Porter would know cuz he needed two fights to make things right. It also goes to show how Khan having trouble with Diaz isn't so bad of a thing as it is made out to be here.
