Hmmm...that's not exactly what he said was it. This is post-Murray.

Then he went to HBO with Heiland, Johnson and Willie Jr. Con man alert!
Quillin and Jacobs admitted themselves they don't want the fight. Erislandy Lara does and has made it publicly clear. Get on the phone, Tom.
Lara wasn't even an option. At that time Lara was saying he would NOT fight at 160 pounds. That's from Lara himself, not his manager not a promoter, Lara:
But of course you'll ignore this and pretend Lara was an option for May.Comment

What exactly is the problem with that? He said the same stuff he always says- that they are willing to fight Lara if it's possible to make.

Where did Lara say he would NOT fight at 160? Nowhere.
The man doesn't speak a word of English and he tried to answer a question without it being translated. Much like GGG's infamous "Ward is too much for me" quote.
Obviously he's not going to campaign at 160, his weight is 154....but he's shown willingness in the past and NOW, that he will go to 160 for Golovkin.
