  • Comments Thread For: Thurman: I Want To Damage Collazo More Than Khan Did

WBA 'regular' welterweight champion Keith Thurman (25-0, 21KOs) is looking to do a number on Luis Collazo (36-6, 19KOs), when they clash on July 11th at the USF Sundome in Tampa, Florida. The fight tops the Premier Boxing Champions debut on ESPN.

Thurman is hoping to upstage British star Amir Khan, who faced Collazo last May on the Floyd Mayweather vs. Marcos Maidana undercard. Collazo went down three times in the loss to Khan. He came back in April and got a second round knockout of Christopher Delgado.

He should be able stop Collazo, he just need to stop being sooo wide because Collazo can hurt him if he left himself open.

He probably damaged Guerrero more than Floyd, but he also took more damage and had to be hospitalized.

Jeeze, what a lousy way to promote your upcoming fight... "I'll hurt him worse than when he lost to the chinny guy in his last fight".

Using Khan's name to stay relevant is the "to do" thing in boxing. We all knew about Brook, but even Thurman secretly idolizes Khan.

If this last more than a few rounds i can see Thurman being exposed a bit.

This will be the first decent fighter he has fought who does not brawl first.
