Putting aside whether you understand the fight being made or not, are you happy with this fight?

As a boxing fan Brook has lost my interest this year.

I'm happy with the fight in terms of the fact that it does a lot to grow Brook's name in America. I don't consider Brandon Rios a great opponent but he's a name who does draw ratings on HBO and has an exciting style which will likely make Brook look good in front of a US audience.

It's career progression for Brook and I don't see other names who are currently available that would do that for him.

The fact its come after Jo Jo Dan and Frankie Gavin though? Two **** no hoper fights should not be leading to Brandon Rios imo.

Not buying that in the time since Dan fight (mandatory so have to give him a pass) there hasnt been any better options available. Open to being proved wrong though

For me it all depends on who is after Rios, if it's another easy win on paper for Brook then he'll rightfully deserve all the criticism that will come his way.

I still think a big fight is awaiting him though. Pacquiao would be nice in the winter.

Brook fans are just spinning his BS time and time again. Fun time Frankie, Jo Jo Dan and now Brandon Rios. It's very clear he's cherrypicking and milking that title for all it's worth but they continue to find a way to justify it. Disgraceful.

Dan was a mandatory so I don't even count that. Gavin was just a throwaway fight a few weeks later. Brook could have either not fought at all or fought a Gavin level opponent at short notice. We should also recall that Brook was stabbed severely which stalled his career.

I want to know what you think the better options are. Thurman? Bradley? They both had their own plans too and booked fights before Brook did which are even worse than Rios.

I think those fights happen once Brook is a bigger name in the US. Thurman just made $1.5m in his last fight. Bradley is guaranteed $2m a fight. They would want Brook to be a more of a lucrative name to risk fighting him.

I don't mind this. Rios is a decent fighter, could potentially give Brook fits here or there if he keeps coming.

Rios is a good way to start gaining more momentum in the US.

Well Bradley fights in a few days so he is hardly out of the picture. He probably will have looked elsewhere by the time the Rios fight is over with.

Thurman is also not that far away from his Collazo fight and will most likely have found another opponent by the time Rios fight is done. He is crying out for a decent name to fight him too so he would be ****** not to jump at a chance to fight Brook.

Brook holds the only title not held by Mayweather so I think he is worth the risk for Bradley or Thurman.

I feel like all this Rios fight is achieving is taking Brook off the market for when negotiations for proper fights could take place.

If Deontay Wilder (similar situation to Brook) did the same thing, fighting a **** mandatory, then a complete no hoper, then a faded former ok Cruiserweight we would rightly call him out. Brook deserves the same criticism.
