Is it possible that Europe is Taking the Heavyweight Division?

Say it aint so. First that giant freek Nicolay Valuev gets the WBA. Now Sergei Lyakhovich is the WBO champ and I know Wlad Klitschko is gonna beat Chris Byrd. WTF is going on? First they beat us in basketball and leave us with a bronze at the Olympics now they're outboxing us. Is it time to reexamine our style? Maybe encorporate a European style of fighting in our training? What does BS think? Your reply's are apprecciated.

Too many overweight American boxers in the division. It was bound to happen sooner or later.

Nop. Nothing's going on. It's just that boxing is more accessible today for these guys than it ever was back then. They're hungry. They have different motivations. and generally , win or lose , ukrainians/russians are tuff mofos.just take a look at who's dominating the elite mma org of the moment.

As far as Basketball is concerned. It's a different issue. international basketball's style has a very different approach from the nba. It's just a question of adapting a gameplan against it. That's all.

Well, it first started with Boozo trying to go on the wagon. Everytime he jumps off and drunks himself up, another EE wins a heavy belt. Of course Wlad will beat Byrd regardless, so the only heavy belt Boozo has a shaky grip on is the Rahman/Toney rematch. Boozo and Toney are splurging on KFC in anticipation of that fight!

one thing about the european heavyweight boxers is that they are generally schooled better than american heavyweights. ive noticed that a lot of the eu heavyweights double up on the jab which gives them a chance to get their bigger shots of. brewster kept throwing single jabes from what i saw, and sergies duoble jabb would push brewster back and give him space to get his shots off

Yeah, in my opinion most of the Eastern Europeans have a fundamental grasp of boxing. There text book style is plain as day yet american boxers aren't adjusting to it as efficiently as they should.

also the american boxers have so many hangers on that they lose focus and start believing everything thats said about them look at brewsters enterouge last night and compare it to sergies. look at calzaghe and lacy. less hangers on=more focus

We Americans are to lazy tis true especially in the Heavyweight divisions...U.S. fighters are built up by promoters and fed feasible opponents and knock them out cold and look impressive and then get a chip on their shoulder and think every fight after that will be the same...Damn shame to, although we dont call them "World Heavyweight Champion" for nothing and it doesnt matter where they come from as long as they are exciting and fight the top guys...Unfortunately we get none of that from U.S. nor oversea fighters.

boxing is getting bigger and bigger in Europe there is like a camp in Germany that recruits all the top boxers from all europe to train them like professionals, Americans have more problemes of lazyness and things like that once they get millions of dollars their motivation certainly changes...
