Ok so i dont get the belt politics so can someone explain why does Floyd have to let go of 154 belts to keep the WBO 147 belt. But he gets to keep his other 147 belts....

WBO rules. Says that a Champion that holds the WBO title at a certain weight class cannot hold belts simultaneously in another weight class.

WBO has ruled that #BradleyVargas is for the vacant interim 147 title. Floyd has until 7/3 to vacate 154 belts to keep WBO 147.

Floyd will vacate the 154 titles and when he does so, Cotto will make a deal with the WBC to vacate the MW title in exchange for the fight with Canelo being sanctioned for the 154 title. Multiple problems solved in one swift move.

Thurman will be fighting for the WBA because he has the regular belt at the moment. Would be a pretty great fight if it were versus Spence.
