Comments Thread For: Brook: Me and Thurman Are Best Fights For Mayweather

Kell Brook agrees that he and Keith Thurman are ahead of Amir Khan in the race to face the unbeaten Floyd Mayweather.

WBA welterweight champion Thurman was full of praise for IBF king Brook last week - highlighting the Sheffield fighter's strength and claiming he deserves the lucrative bout with 'Money' more than compatriot Khan.

And Brook, who like Thurman boasts an unbeaten record, was quick to repay the compliment.

Based on track record Amir Khan is way ahead of Brook and Thurman. Brook only faced one half decent opponent in Shawn Porter. Thurman only faced Guererro. Khan has been in with a peak Garcia and Peterson. At that time Khan faced them I dont think Thurman or Brook would have won against them either. Khan has been in with Maidana, yes Maidana wasnt as good as he is now but no way Brook would have gone 12 rounds with Maidana. Give Khan his props, he doesnt deserve the Mayweather fight but he has more rights than Brook who has only faced bums.

Had Thurman and Brook fought each other, there's zero doubt the winner would be facing Floyd in September.

Instead Brook fought Gavin and Thurman is fighting Khan's leftovers in Collazo. Bad move.

People forget that Maidana was the most feared in the divison and had a 90% KO percentage. A bit like Thurman now, if Amir doesnt get the Mayweather fight, I wouldnt be surprised to see him derail Thurman.

Brook is probably correct, however he should have fought Thurman instead of Rees! If that fight had taken place, then the winner would be fighting Mayweather in September. Instead Brook fought Rees, Thurman is fighting Collazo, and Khan fought Algeri. That's bad business! So now, the question is "who is the biggest draw?" and not "who is the best?" I think the answer is Amir Khan.

It would be dreadful to see a very limited Khan in there with Floyd don't forget Khan has already been knocked out and smashed to bits twice at two lower weights and in his last out ing fought a guy who had never fought at full welterweight and was down 9 times in his previous two fights and Khan only just sc****d past!
In Brook and Thurman you have two unbeaten guys who are big at the weight and come to fight, we all know the first sign of trouble and Khan is holding on for dear life he is pushing off and pushing down. When he is tagged even by light punches his legs dip and a little harder he does a dance, Khan is not up to a fight with Floyd and still has a lot to prove at a lower level.Brook would be a good choice as he is the man Khan is running from and also holds a version of the title.

Brook and Thurman needs to fight each other before trying to go for the Mayweather sweepstake.
