Not really. They said he wasn't prime anymore but no one really said he was washed up. Everyone praised that he put up a good fight and Canelo-Cotto was being talked about. He was still the favorite going into the Trout fight. It was after that fight that people began saying he was washed up. Hindsight is 20/20 and we now see that his training had a lot to do with that.
