I won't lie... I thought cotto gave it all he had vs floyd, and then lost all love for the sport and looked old and disinterested vs trout.... Roach has done an amazing job rekindling a fire in cotto

I agree Mayweather won, but he also beat Cotto's ass so you have no room to talk shit about Chino. Maidana doesn't take knees.

PRBOXINGCOTTO, Maidana got a rematch for a reason; Cotto didn't.

Maidana got a rematch because the commentating was pretty bad for the first fight, the fight was made to be more competitive than it really was and it's inconceivable to even give Maidana more than 4 rounds.

Cotto in his prime would of beaten Mayweather.

Commentating was fine. The fight was competitive where it was Maidana's work rate and body attack vs accurate headshots.

some rounds were won by a few clean punches, that Mayweather still had to work hard through out the fight to get.

And the rematch was a joke. Complete clinch fest. Looked like a mma fighter holding on to stop the fist from flying.

He admits he didn't pursue the fight. Make of it what you will (link):

Most people believe this fight against Mayweather should have taken place five years ago. From your point of view, why hasn't it happened until now?

First of all, I'm always available to face everyone. My feeling is that if the fight didn't happen before, then it wasn't right for my case [at the time]. It is available now and will happen this year on Saturday, May 5, so I am going to be prepared.

Was the Mayweather fight one that you pushed for through the years at any point behind the scenes with Bob Arum?

I never pushed for it at any time before. I would just see what is the best fight that I can get fight by fight. This one is the best one for me now. This is the best chapter in my career so far.

Cotto had his moments in the fight but Floyd beat him easy. Some sections of the media are always looking for faults in Floyd instead of admiring his massive contribution to the game

It takes TWO to tango, he cant force Cotto to fight him. Moreover Cotto himself said Arum didn't allow him to fight Mayweather. When he was a free man Mayweather was the fight he took without hesitation.
