There marketing themselves to that garbage black rap culture that's obsessed over material objects.

But Bradley and Ward have 10x the resume Broner does, where's all there black fans at?
And guess who buys more rap cd's than black people and go to the concerts? Not "****** people" as he said. Suburban white kids

Thats true but it doesn't really mean anything.

They buy more because they have more purchasing power, and because they don't steal.

(just kidding About the stealing part)

I finally Figured it Out A Division that has no REAL HISTORY to it. Who is the greatest Super Middleweight Ever? Joe Calzalghe? So Andre Ward is already probably the 2nd Greatest Super Middleweight Ever with a strong possibility of finishing #1 once he is done. It is a European Driven Division always has been! Frankie Liles who was the last really Good American to be at the top of that Division and guess what, that went unnoticed as well. So Technically, Ward has OVERACHIEVED greatly when it comes to getting the attention he gets and the praise and the Accolades he has received thus far in a Division Americans typically don't care about.

HOWEVER, Light Heavyweight on the other hand you at least would have the opportunity to join the ranks of greats like Archie Moore, Jimmy Bivins, Michael Spinks and of course B-Hop guys like that. Light Heavyweight actually does have a rich American History

Don't know why this has never been brought up before but after really thinking about it. It has nothing to do with Race, Style, Promotion, Manager, Network...None Of That BS! He is simply stuck in a Division NOBODY ever cared for in America. So I hate to admit it because I'm a Ward Fan BUT Froch and all of the Europe fans who get on Ward for not travel, you guys are right...Ward does need to Travel because that is where all of the history in that Division is...IN EUROPE!
I'm pissed that you left out Roy jones jr when mentioning 168 and 175

            • Undercard - 7 fights, let's estimate $75,000 total (it might be 2x this - Arias just signed and probably got a good amount)
            • lease Oracle Arena - $75,000 (est based MSG in NY at $150,000 to rent)
            • Opertating Expenses (security, electric, insurance, vendors, janitors, parking) - $50,000 (based on average NBA game from Oklahoma)
            • BET time buy - I'm just guessing - $50,000
            • Advertising/Promotional - $50,000 (I don't know what kind of tv/radio/print spots, this could be way higher)
            • Lets be way generous and say that did better than the Rodriguez gate of $277,000 and set it at $300,000. They comp'd and discounted the hell out of that place last night.
            • And raked in another $250,000 from sponsors and ad rev(BET may have collected the ad rev depending on the agreement - probably closer to $100k).

            $(2,000,000) Ward
            $(250,000) Smith
            $(75,000) Undercard
            $(75,000) Arena
            $(50,000) Operating
            $(50,000) BET
            $(50,000) Promotion
            $300,000 Gate
            $250,000 Sponsors
            $(2,000,000) Net

I guessed $3mill expense, looks like $2.6mill expense, then factor in an est $550k rev which yields a conservative $2mill loss. Who knows what they paid the performers. At any rate they still had to front $2.5mill for a single fight knowing they didn't have the tv money behind it. They could front $10-12mill for a major event like Golovkin/Ward knowing they would have tv money behind it and gamble on the ppv buys.
Why are you using the Rodriguez number, when Ward-Dawson, the fight just prior to that one and Ward's last fight in Oracle Arena did over $700k in 2012?

Even if he just matches the revenue number for his last fight at Oracle, you're own net number gets cut by half a million dollars.

The BET US TV deal information is a massive question mark, but even after that, you're projections failed to even acknowledge that the fight was carried live by Sky Sports in the UK (for another revenue stream), and likely other international markets.

Without even re-thinking the sponsorship numbers ($250k for what felt like 10 quality event sponsors, and TIDAl as the name sponsor, seems a bit of a lowball estimate), your projections are already off by $1m for Ward's hometown return fight that was also carried live by Sky Sports in the UK.

The actual numbers aren't available, but if you're going to project something, at least make sure to account for as complete a scope on the event as possible first.

              ^^^this

Hip Hop didn't actually experience it's first boom until Run-DMC and Aerosmith did their collaboration, and it took until Eminem started kicking rhymes to really blow things out of the water, setting up things for tours of Middle America and the major push towards hip hop being a part of the massive event festivals and touring Europe.

hip hop's dirty little secret, so to speak.

Ward was 173.4 two weeks before the Smith fight which was set at a catchweight of 172. Yep he was sure struggling to make weight.

When he makes 168 for his next fight, what will the next excuse for your kind be?

I can almost smell the piss dribbling down your leg.

Time is flying by, why doesnt Ward connect with the masses? what is wrong with him?

Why doesnt the African American community get behind him?
Not everyone is going to be a cash cow. But if you want to make him more acceptable to casuals put him in with GGG and keep marketing GGG as this indestructible force everyone is afraid of.

Once he ends that myth, casual fans should be more supportive.

Froch took the opportunity and became the cash cow of the division whilst Ward contemplated retirement.
