Lol I'm pretty sure haymon was the one that paid to get floyd out of his contract. Surely mikey can find a way to get out it

When has bob arum been accused of short changing fighters? It seems to me the boxers who leave top rank do so because either they don't like bob arum giving them hard fights like Chavez Jr. And Mikey Garcia, or they got a better offer like Miguel cotto. Who got short changed? Floyd claimed bob arum owed him money but during the may Pac fight he said he never had a problem with arum. Other than floyd who always lies, who has been short changed?

doesn't make sense to urge a guy back into the ring, if he just doesn't have the passion for it. especially under terms he feels are unfit for him, hence the lawsuit against Top Rank.

in short, just keep in mind we're talking about a guy who really isn't dying to get back in the ring
That is a good point. Mikey is a smart guy with stuff going on outside the ring and a lack of passion for boxing. He has amazing talent, but if his heart isn't in it, what can you say.

That is a shame Mikey was fun to watch, his career though and there are plenty of other guys to pay attention to.

Dude should have just honored his contract with top rank,, he would have had fights with gamboa, crawford, manny by now....

I got no sympathy for these guys that sign contracts, and then want to break them because they think the grass is greener on the other side

Mikey Garcia is a good fighter with smarts inside the ring but evidently none outside of it. Boxing is not a real career, its something you can only do for a few years so its important to make the most legacy wise and money wise while you're in your prime. Mikey was making steady progress towards a nice legacy and steady progress toward bigger paychecks. But frankly old Mikey just got plain old greedy and decided that wasting away precious prime years was worth the gamble of getting into a bulli**** lawsuit against toprank for no good reason. I have sympathy for fighters that give it there all yet get nothing in return, I have no sympathy for Mikey because he was getting great returns and on his way to get even better ones but got greedy. I hope TopRank wins the lawsuit.

Arum is clearly done and has moved on. Mikey Garcia will be on the Shelf until his contract runs out and who knows when that will be.

Was this verified? That was my impression after the fight but I never heard anybody speak on this and have been waiting to see what his payday is vs Vargas. TR was basically losing money on Bradley's big contract, but you can't do a guy dirty like that.
