What surprises me the most is that Smith was making $225k for the fight. RN must be losing massive cash on this fight.

You would have thought if they had $225K for the B side then they could have attracted someone better than Smith. So Smith probably gets $180K for this fight plus I'm guessing he probably did pretty well out of the two Abraham fights - halycon days for him.

But if I'm Smith, I gotta think of the reward. What happens if I do beat Andre Ward? I would absolutely blow everyone's expectations of me out of the water, plus I will have beaten the prestigious Andre Ward. If I can beat Ward, then its worth risking the ire of everyone if I come into fight overweight because face it, if I'm going to beat Ward I can't just be 100% I gotta be 101%.
