Cotto, Canelo close in on super-fight deal

Discussions to seal the fight between WBC middleweight Champion Miguel Cotto and Saul 'Canelo' Alvarez are going very well and great news is expected by month end, comments WBC President Mauricio Sulaiman.

Mauricio says indications are that the fight could happen in the last trimester of the year and the winner will fight Gennady Golovkin- the mandatory rival.

"Cotto vs. Canelo is one of the match up combinations that many fans want to see. I think both sides will soon reach an agreement after Interim champion Gennady Golovkin accepted this situation," said Sulaiman

"Cotto looked amazing in his last bout and 'Canelo' looked really accurate in his. It could be a great event, with Golovkin then fighting the winner next year."

One of the main current topics is focusing on the venue and city that will host this very interesting fight.

It'll happen. It gives 3G time to fine tune his stationary noggin. The bombs being delivered won't be from Monroe Jr. 3G needs time to hone in on his craft, he has disregard for these characteristics.
