If Floyd sticks to his word of a 'solid' competitor that is good news and lets hope he means it. This of course counts ole glass jawed Khan out who is definitely as far from 'solid' as can be.
Seeing as how highly Floyd seemly rates Porter then it would make sense to take on the undefeated guy that beat him, Brook.
Nobody wants to see Floyd beating up on guys that are already damaged goods !
I agree with this post..Brook or Thurman would be solid...although I think Triple G is probably the only really solid opponent...
Thurman already has a fight scheduled so he's out...
Brook is the only "solid" opponent besides Triple G... just don't think Brook is known enough...I'm still betting it's going to be Amere Con
at this point u shouldnt even dobut the man,i mean at what point has he ever foguht a guy that wasnt considered a solid test?
theres a criteria that goes into who floyd takes on and those same aspects will be met with his september opponent.
1. you must be coming off of a solid to very good win or steak of wins
2. you must be a champion within the division
3. you must have at least be relevant with a decent backing
It doesn't matter what "makes financial sense" at this point. Floyd is making atleast 32 million whoever he fights.
I doubt he cares what Showtime make.
I doubt you care "what makes financial sense" either lol...you just want to see your idol hang on to this fictional and artificial "undefeated" moniker...
When you beg DLH to unretire you're desperate as F@#$!!!
Showtime is going to lose big time $$$. They may need to postpone the fight and wait till Pacquiao recovers or for the Canelo/Cotto winner because there is basically nobody else Mayweather is willing(he's not fighting GGG, not even at 154) to fight that can help them break even.

LOL @ you. His career is over. He is retiring undefeated. Move on.

Yah I'm sure Zab Judah...Baldomir...Ortiz and Guerrero...fit that criteria...really solid opponents there...

LOL this post will be ignored by Mayweather-worshipers..who are happy with the Ortiz...Baldomir and Guererros off the world lol...
He doesn't need to wait but retiring on a Amere Con fight is pretty lame... He'd be better off waiting for Pacquiao to heal and going straight into that rematch with the same terms...
Can you imagine Amir Khan coming off that Algieri fight fighting in pillows trying to beat Floyd Mayweather? lol...Who in their right mind would watch that fight unless you'd actually blow Mayweather in person if he let you...
