If it's not Ibragimov or Povetkin, yeah actually like to watch him box. His stinkers are as stinky as they get but I do like to watch him box most of the time. He's getting up there and I think the Povetkin fight was a sign that he will buy himself all the time he can get from the ref with compact guys bull rushing. If the ref in the Jennings fight allowed it, we would've just had Povetkin again. But I'm judging on his whole 60 something fights, most of it has been good for me. If it was just his fights from before 2008 I'd say I enjoyed everything pretty much. Even his losses were actually pretty entertaining. After that, more like 75%. But I admit the other 25% pushing it. But even Ali had his stinkers when he got into the last part of his career.
I kind of expected with his style and stamina history that the clinching would get worse if he kept boxing and it has. I have more of a problem with the leaning though personally. I've had guys lean on me like that when I dipped down and that just shouldn't be part of the sport if the ref's keen. You need to distinguish between head control and literally putting your body weight down on the back of your opponent if you're the ref. I understand that Steward did (and other coaches do) advise you try to use that as a regular tactic if you can get away with it but to me Wlad's clinching is nowhere as big a deal as that and that's what Pabon was worst with on Povetkin imo. Refs need to be aware of that and the rule book should disallow it. I'm not even sure if it does off hand. But I hate it and when Dawson threw Hops off his back I thought man good for you, brother.
