  • Comments Thread For: Errol Spence Very Willing To Face Keith Thurman Next

As previously reported on BoxingScene.com, pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather Jr. (48-0, 26KOs) would like to see up and coming welterweight prospect Errol Spence Jr. (16-0, 13KOs), in his next fight, take on feared puncher Keith Thurman (25-0, 21KOs).

Mayweather is among the many who recognizes Spence's talent and confidently believes the 25-year-old fighter is ready to fight, and beat, Thurman.

Thurman defends his WBA 'regular' welterweight title against Luis Collazo on July 11th. Mayweather holds the WBA's 'super' version of the welterweight crown.

Spence gets whacked at the moment. He should try fighting somebody in the top 20 first.

I'd actually like for Spence to get a little bit more experience before he fight someone of Thurman's level. I wouldn't want to see him jump the gun,and get sparked before he's matured.

Spence/Berto or Spence/Guerrero would be good fights right now.

Spence vs the Broner/Porter winner sounds good too.

Does Spence want this or does Floyd Jr want this?

Spence fights nobody then is supposed to get into the ring with the biggest punching welterweight, doesn't seem like the brightest move.

The biggest punching welterweight couldn't even bruise Bundu, and couldn't take out a glorified superfeatherweight in Guerrero.

If you use your feet even a little, staying out of Thurmans power is easy. Spence would destroy Thurman.

Thurman likes to talk a lot. Criticizing everyone, but only fights soft opponents. Lets see if he's full of shlt.

I think Spence has more potential than Thurman but this fight is too soon for the kid.
