Overhyped and Overrated is not the same.
Overhyped right now is GGG (that is only because with the hype he is getting, the resume doesn't back up the hype and that is because most of the top Middlweights are Terrified of Him). Kell Brook is a bit overhyped right now as well, like GGG I like Kell Brook and I think he is extremely talented but all this hype over beating Shawn Porter? Really? Same Porter that had a Draw with a Old Julio Diaz on Friday Night Fights then all of a sudden came back super strong and overpowering people...Just Sayingbut that is another topic. I put Keith Thurman in this Category as well!
Overrated is Adrien Broner & Canelo Alvarez Easily! Both get talked about a lot by Boxing Media and Fans and they're both well Promoted but in big fights so far...NEITHER HAS IMPRESSED! They knockout guys they're suppose to knockout and beat who they're suppose to beat but each time they stepped up both have looked Average and either lost or needed judges help to get the win. Of course both still very young and can and will get BETTER but right now they're overrated by many. The problem they will have is that it is other young fighters who have the better Pedigree so them being able to Maintain at the top will be very hard! Danny Garcia, I hate to do it to him but I put him in this Overrated Category as well. The man needed help by the judges in all his big fights besides Khan and Matthysse and I give him full credit for those wins...but he is still living off of them and is not getting betterLast edited by sicko; 06-18-2015, 01:02 PM.Comment

Alright, non-biased. Overrated means you have to actually be rated. So I'm going to look at who is ranked on the pound for pound list.
In looking at the Ring pound for pound list, the only ones who have proven resumes against all different types of elite fighters with different styles are Floyd, Wlad and Pac. Clearly they belong.
Kovalev has unified all of the belts in his division but one. Roman Gonzalez has won world championships in multiple divisions. They belong.
So my list of overrated fighters includes:
Rigondeaux - Big fan but he's there off one performance and has been getting a pass too long based off the eye test. Time to step up.
Golovkin - Read my posts over the past week. Good talent, sub par resume.
Crawford - One of my favorite fighters but also does not warrant being considered one of the 10 best in the world.Comment

Roman Gonzalez way overrated. Most hype ever for beating up journeymen and old fighters who used to be good. Not a top 10 P4P fighter, not even close.
Golovkin is good, but overrated. Not a top 10 P4P fighter. He was able to beat Hagler according to his fans, as far back to when he beat Proksa.
Amir Khan and his "tools". It has become laughable now, the good ol "tools" that he always keeps at home. The tools were no where to be found vs Julio Diaz, Chris Algieri, Lamont Peterson, Danny Garcia, Marcos Maidana. But hey, he will bring them
Vs Mayweather doe.Comment

Froch, tough guy but really nothing special.
Kesseler, good guy but who has he beaten. He lost a one sided fight to Calzaghe and that fight really showed his class.
Dawson, nothing special than or before. Hyped to be the next big thing but we saw how that turned out.
And honestly Super middleweight is a weak division. How else would Abraham had been rank top ten after beating a career middleweight in Taylor.
Not trying to breakdown his resume down but he beat top ten guys and GGG has been top ten comp but some how one is unproven.Comment

Yes it should of happened at a weight Floyd hadn't fought at since 05. Oh let's not forget he was the man at 147... So why the **** would he go down? Hatton wanted the glory, and the check regardless if people thought hatton lost or whatever it obviously didn't bother him enough to move back down.
This also kills me most of the same fighters that fight at 140 always move to 147 so what's this **** of he was to small there? Not to mention Hatton blows up in weight so the lil extra 7 pounds really killed him? Or had he killed his body by treating it like **** and just got beat up by a more skilled opponent.Comment

No bias:
Lomachenko.
Looks absolute top class, skills on par with ANYONE
But lost to Salido, who he had no business losing to after Mikey dismantled him (don't bring up the weight issue, Loma is no tiny 126er and the difference wasn't as drastic as some of you remark; Salido just wasn't drained0.
Beat TBD killer, but I need to see more.
Lara: he failed the Cuban school of boxing. Set out to make Canelo look bad rather than actually win a fight. Ties, losses, taken to hell by Angulo; just an overrated "master' boxer
Matthysee: wanted him to be great (i really do root for him), but gets beaten every time he steps up, had to hang on against Ruslan.
agree about British boxers: lots of hype before they even test themselves. Only Kell Brook has passed a big test and looks the part; the rest? please step upLast edited by JaguaresMx; 06-18-2015, 01:11 PM.Comment

Khan. He's still pretty much the same Khan. I finally found Khan/Algeri on YouTube and Khan pretty much let Algeri walk in and walk him down with out using his feet or keeping distance with a jab. He'd just back pedal a few steps away and wind up in the same position. His defense hasn't really improved that much either he shells up a little better now but at times shells up to much to the point where he can't see where shots are coming from and set up his own offense. I could could prbly make a list.Comment

Gotta disagree with you on Ward. The guys resume is hardly better than GGG but you have fools saying he pound for pound #2. **** is silly. Overrating his comp doesn't make it better than it is.
