Not really surprising especially as the main event stunk as a match-up. I watch a ****** amount of boxing and I have yet to see the Lara-Rodriguez fight, which shows just how bad a match-up this was that even I didn't watch it.

Don't watch it. It was boring as hizell. I like Lara actually but it was a one-sided schooling. No reason to watch..

They need to put Lara in there with bigger names. Although with his slick style and poor ratings I don't know if he'll be able to get those shots.

Overall though it was a bad week for boxing. HBO and Showtime also bombed so it is what it is.

Nobody should be "put" in with the big names - they have to EARN that shot.

Lara was conquered, and made the son of Canelo. Canelo gave him his shot on the big stage, adn he failed - in both ways - Canelo beat him, and he beat himself with his terrible performance.

Now he has to gradually work his way back up to get in position for a higher-profile fight.

pretty sure even zelenoff would do better numbers than Lara so i wouldn't use that as a Khan selling point.

The main event of Amir Khan-Chris Algieri drew 1 million viewers with a peak during the fight of 1,120,000 viewers

Which made it the most watched boxing telecast on cable in 8 years

Like it or not Khans name had people tuning in...

you should. PBC is changing the TV landscape for american boxing, and the matches are awful.

dont get me wrong man i like khan and he did good numbers, i was saying it was pointless comparing the lara numbers with khan coz lara is never going to get good rating by himself

I agree Lara will never be a household name

Haymon will have to put the bigger names on Spike for them to replicate the ratings for Khan vs Algieri

The Lara's of this world are simply not going to cut it

Anything below 500k is bad in my book

I'm one of the biggest Kirkland fans there is, but he needs to retire. He has zero punch resistance and he is slurring his speech. I don't want to see the man take anymore damage than he already has.

Even hypotheticaly speaking it is a terrible matchup for James. He is ****ing horrible at cutting the ring off and his swarming style would find air all night against Lara. He obviously has a punchers chance, but that is all.
