He's hitting Tamayo with all he's got but Tamayo is comfortable with the power now. Valdez isn't hitting him with anything he can't see coming and Valdez surely isn't getting stronger down the stretch.

Valdez needs to feint and use some throwaway punches or at least catch Tamayo by punching with him.

Definitely agree with that. Like Ward has said too, vary the speed, go to the body, and feinting would help him out. He is landing a tremendous amount of shots and he should be hurting this guy a lot more.

I think Valdez is one of those guys who SEEM to hit harder than they actually do.

That's his main weakness from what I can tell but he is young and can learn to using other abilities to win fights.

People expect these young fighters to just coming out and destroy everybody? Valdez looks good to me! Still young and working his way up and improving as a fighter. HBO just have some fans so ****** that they think if a guy don't score a quick KO he is not good
