It seems like Wilder is trying to make anyone who wants to fight come to Alabama. Povetkin might not like the travel involved maybe?

I hope they press the issue. Wilder should be fighting his mandatory if he isn't trying to make a big fight with one of the British heavyweights or Wlad.

Why not? Glazkov has much better shot at beating Wilder than Wlad. Plus, Wlad is targeting Fury for later this year. It won't be until early/mid 2016 that Wlad faces Glazkov - and even then, there's no assurance that this fight takes place.

This is like some huge surprise? It happens quite a bit actually. How long is Glazkov going to be Wlad's mando before that fight goes? and the Povetkin-Perez Eliminator wasn't that long ago.

No one is in a hurry to make this fight because frankly it's a fight that no one really cares about outside of a few hundred cranky boxing "hardcores" who hate Wilder. The average boxing fan couldn't care less about it, let alone casuals who don't give a flying f*** about it.

It may get made at some point but will be pretty anti-climactic and will probably be a one-sided snoozer and do crap ratings..

Why not? Glazkov has much better shot at beating Wilder than Wlad. Plus, Wlad is targeting Fury for later this year. It won't be until early/mid 2016 that Wlad faces Glazkov - and even then, there's no assurance that this fight takes place.

Because if he loses to Wilder (a very distinct possibility) he can kiss any hope of a Wlad shot goodbye. It would be not-smart on his part..

I bet if you took a poll on the forum and asked who the members would want Wilder to fight next I would almost guarantee that the results would lean heavy towards Povetkin. I also believe the ones that don't want the fight to happen are his fans, to include you, that believe that Wilder may actually lose the fight. You also stated that it would be a boring fight. As BoxingScene.com previously reported, WBC heavyweight champion Deontay Wilder (34-0, 32KOs) is going to stay very active and wants to fight at least four times this year - with September 26th as the target return date.

He returned to the ring in January, winning the WBC title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Bermane Stiverne at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Wilder came to action last Saturday night in Alabama and knocked out Eric Molina in nine rounds.

Boxing is so predictable. They want no part of Povetkin. Ive already predicted this. Nice wording though.."were not waiting"..good one. Now lets see if they choose Minto or McCline like I guessed.

Wilder fans are not converned at all because Wilder is simply the better boxer. He throws more, he lands more, he has more power, more speed, more length, more mobility, more everything:

Let's look at the punch stats for Povetkin-Huck and Wilder-Stiverne (Two 12 round fights)

Povetkin against Huck

Total punches: 172/561 - 31%
Jab: 41/213 - 19%
Power punches: 131/348 - 38%

Wilder against Stiverne

Total punches: 227/621 - 37%
Jab: 120/420 - 29%
Power Punches: 207/201 - 53%

Wilder also has a much higher KO ratio, a good indication he hits with far more power.

I think we can safely see Wilder will jab Povetkin into next week until he lands the big one.

Then all the Sasha lovers can go back to worshiping the Eurostiffs they love so much while Wilder goes on to bigger and better things..

Povetkin fought Huck eons ago and it's not relevant to use this fight as a comparison.

Povetkin has reinvigorated his career since the Klitschko loss; since the loss he's faced 3 highly ranked contenders and he's KO'd 'em all. That's definitely something to be concerned about if your Jay Deas or any other member of Team Wilder.

I want to see Wilder face Povetkin but I don't fault his team for procrastinating the fight. They need to work out all the flaws/kinks in his game before getting into the ring with a world beater like Povektin
