He returned to the ring in January, winning the WBC title with a twelve round unanimous decision over Bermane Stiverne at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas. Wilder came to action last Saturday night in Alabama and knocked out Eric Molina in nine rounds.

In other words, Wilder's team is saying that he is going to fight two more bums as WBC champion before he relinquishes his belt instead of being forced to fight fight Povetkin.

If he can't get the title shot, the Russians and their bags of money will still be there in 4 months. What is the freaking hurry? To please some BS.com posters? Who gives a s***?
Wilder spouting off that he is the heavyweight champ should be a good enough reason for him to want to fight the best fighter available, which obviously isn't Wlad. Especially since he just had what was supposed to be an easy voluntary defense. In my opinion, and I sincerely believe this, that Wilder hasn't done enough to deserve multiple easy voluntary defenses. I also believe that if Wilder's fans had any real confidence in him they wouldn't care who he fought next. But since Wilder didn't look good against a rather weak opponent the bull5hit excuse machine is now working overtime.

I think people just want fighters to conform to their little desires when it means jack. It's Wilders career and these things take time. I mean wlad and Fury are fighting in early.Sep.and they.don't even have purse bids out yet. Settle the freak down. Maybe Povetkin is demanding the fight be in Moscow. Maybe Haymon wants it in Vegas. Maybe Povetkin wants certain gloves. Who the freak knows? Every fighter dreams of a true title shot. Wilder should maximize his chances..

Wilder needs to cash out vs Klitschko right now - fighting Povetkin would be hazardous to his financial prospects against Klitschko

Nobody cares about Wilder-Povetkin except for Wilder haters/Sasha lovers who think Povetkin is the Terminator or something.

Wilder-Wlad is the biggest fight to be made at HW right now, not even close..
wlad has to fight fury next so he cant fight wilder anytime soon. there's alot of people that wanna see wilder/povetkin. it has the potential to be a real exciting fight

From the pure business perspective I can only agree with this!!^^^

I'd even go further and say that he should do it without really anymore bum fights...

Now that his aura of unbeatability for low level boxers has been evaporated, every bum in the neighbourhood is gonna be lining up for a shot. Each time he steps in with one he is in increasingly dangerous circumstances where he will be finished by one and handing his title over to one.

What a joke it would be for both Wilder and for boxing. Just go get knocked out by Klitschko, take your millions and be done with it!

Then why not fight his mandatory and beat him more impressively than Klitschko did?
Surely that would generate more interest.
