it's fairly evident to me that joshua has a higher ceiling than wilder, but it's a bit distasteful to talk about beating champions when you are an acknowledged prospect with no intention of fighting the top guys in the immediate future

I much favor Wilder over AJ.
I agree, he's yet to fight anyone decent. But how can you say that then say Wilder would win when Wilder has fought no one either?

I said I favored, not "wilder will beat AJ".

The Wilder who fought Stiverne looks much more dangerous than any AJ I've seen so far. Wilder was chin checked, he still hasn't been knocked down lately. Wobbled maybe, but not down. While AJ has never been chin-tested, period.

Let's just put things into perspective. Molina was the 44th ranked HW going into the fight on Saturday. AJ's HIGHEST ranked opponent to date was ranked 65th. There is no comparison here..

Joshua is by far the superior boxer and I think he punches harder as well. By the time Joshua is contending for a world title by mid-late 2017 I don't think Wilder will be a factor in the division anymore.

Not that great of a difference considering one is a 29 y/o champ and the other is a 25 y/o contender.

If Joshua gets to 29 and 34 fights he would have faced a lot better opposition than Wilder at this point.

Deontay's only fought 1 guy so suggesting he's the experienced one is funny.

They're both yet to really be tested. AJ's fought much better competition than DW fought at 13 fights thats for sure.

Looking at boxrec, in DW's 13th fight, he got knocked down by a 17-20-2 fighter in a 6 rounder.

anthony "gift decision gold medalist" joshua. boxing's corruption doesn't just exist at the pro level. they have big plans for certain guys long before they turn pro. joshua got bashed up and dominated in 2 of his olympic fights but miraculously he came away with the gold medal because they wanted to market him as anthony joshua the gold medal winning super heavyweight.

I'd expect Joshua to be at world lvl by the end of the year, "If" all goes to plan. Charr, Thompson & Whyte are all looking likely opponents before the year is out.

He'd prb be contending for a title next year.
