Comments Thread For: Joshua: Wilder Has Raw Power, But I'm a Better Boxer

This past Saturday night, Olympic bronze medal winner Deontay Wilder (34-0, 33KOs) knocked Eric Molina out after nine rounds in Alabama to retain the WBC world heavyweight championship.

The 239-pound Texan had already been knocked down on three occasions but managed to get up every time before Wilder delivered the final big blow with 1:03 left in the ninth. Molina did get some early respect when he caught Wilder with a big right in the third, a shot which rocked the legs of the champion.

Olympic gold medal agrees, however I reckon Joshua hits harder than Wilder. That Stiverne who was diagnosed with rhabdomyolysis post fight would get murdered by AJ as he spends way too much time against the ropes or covering up.

I don't care if Haye fights someone in the produce section at the grocery store, he just needs to shut up and fight already. He's a lot of fun to watch. But he's another one wasting his prime years running his cucumber sucker and not fighting. Even Grandpa Briggs is staying active fighting essentially homeless people. There's your comeback fight. Haye and Briggs.

Where is Wilder's jab?! He keeps his arms in a hugging position, and just looks for a lucky bomb. He doesn't set the bomb up with the jab. If he had a jab, Molina would have been out of there in 4 rounds.

Rofl what fight were you watching? Wilder was killing him w the jab. He landed three times as many punches as Molina. He threw 31 jabs a round. The avg HW throws 19..

I think Joshua is by far the better 'boxer'. I think Wilder has more one-punch power but AJ is not far behind. What I really like about AJ is that he has the Tyson mentality - which is once your hooked, you're not taking a walk, you're not getting a break - you're getting destroyed.

Wilder is too right hand happy for me. Lately it seems like his whole game has been jab-right hand.

Joshua goes to the body which is refreshing to see.

Yes, a better boxer, more compact punches, more assortment of punches, more punches, faster, better movement, better defense. He would dominate Wilder. Last time I said this, someone had the nerve to say anyone can look good fighting the guys Joshua has fought. Which is exactly the same position Wilder was in two fights ago and it didn't stop him from winning the title.
