For Porter it less about the cut to 144 and more about the fact he can't re-hydrate above 154.
IMO that's what makes this type of move really cynical.
Deliberately making a fighter weaker on the day of the fight.
Typical Haymon TMT BS move.

Haymon and Mayweather = slick way to violate the M. Ali act...
Where are all the Pacquiao-haters who cry about draining opponents... I bet Broner gets a pass for the catch weight if he wins... nobody really cared about catch weights until the guy Mayweather ducked for 5 years started used them a few times..then when Mayweather used it against Marquez and Canelo..all was forgotten lol...

I call it the "Oscar De La Hoya" effect. Remember when ODH fought Pac and everyone thought he would win because he was much bigger? Well you have to ask yourself "when is the last time he actually weighed that little?" If the answer is over 5 years you can expect him to have some serious issues.

Golovkin would fight Mayweather or Pacquiao at 152 if they offered, doesn't make it right. Catchweights should be banned from the sport. It's unhealthy.

Broner is an Al Haymon managed fighter but under no promotional banner. Why is he speaking on Broner's behalf?

You guys also forget to mention that there is a 10 pound rehydration clause for this fight.
This could really hurt Porter as I'm sure he's already past 154 in regular fights.
