    I agree with this!!

The proof is there when you slam the bag without wraps or even gloves, it's difficult to produce full force without the wrist bending somewhat unless it's spot on aligned.

With ample tight wrapping so everything is locked solidly in place, you can see and feel the punches are much harder.

Many boxers break there hands because weak wrist ,a stronger wrist also supports thetop small bones connected to the knuckles ,you have to punch correctly with no form of protection covering the hands ,even Tyson has broken his hand in a street fight when he hit Green ....punching with gloves even with a fractured hand is common place with boxers ,i have at this moment two fractured fingers and it really doesnt effect power or technique with gloves on at all all that matters is the force is coming from the gloves not the direct hand so i think Wilder having steel in his hand really isnt relevant .

Yes those are all great points mate, and if anything this thread has highlighted some of the conceptual differences between punching in gloved boxing and bare-knuckled fights

For those arguing that steel pins in the hand don't give one an advantage, consider this: Before Wilder had pins implanted in his hand, he broke it. Rather than just set the hand and cast it, he had steel pins implanted first. Why? To reinforce the metacarpal bones that he broke, so that they would be less likely to break again when he punched an opponent. A bridge's pillars are made of concrete and reinforced with steel, so the bridge doesn't collapse under weight. I didn't say the implants give Deontay power, I suggested that they allow him to punch harder without fear of re-breaking the bones, because the steel provides reinforcement. How hard is that to understand?

Well your opening statement was about the metal in his hand ,you yourself said no wonder he is .koing guys like the terminator .The problem with that is all his k.os come in the first rounds which indicate he is not really battering his hands much in the actual fight....if steel pins can rehabilitatate the hand faster than a cast ,why wouldn't he go that route ,he a proffesional fighter ? Your main argument now is about him not breaking his hand during the fight which again has no impact on his punching power ,just reassurance of it less likely happening and he will throw more power shots ,but that doesnt put him in another level than the fighters with an advantage ,he has no history of hand breaks ,What if Floyd had them? Ilook at it as the guys just trying to prolong his career ,hand breaks rarely ever occur during a fight ,if they did stell pins would be a common place!

If Floyd's hands were reinforced with steel, I think he would punch harder, because he wouldn't have as much worry of stressing the bones. Wilder punches harder with those steel pins in his hand than he would if he didn't have them, because he knows he's less likely to re-break it.

Do you realize how many fighters have pins in their hands?

and that they'd all give up their precious pins for hands that didn't break when they hit stuff
