You can count Lucas Browne among those who weren't blown away by the performance turned in by Deontay Wilder over the weekend.

Wilder made the first defense of his heavyweight title, scoring four knockdowns en route to a 9th round stoppage of Eric Molina at Bartow Arena in Birmingham, Alabama. The bout marked the first time the state of Alabama has ever played host to a heavyweight title fight, with 9,347 fans packing into the sold out arena in support of Wilder, who grew up less than an hour away in Tuscaloosa.

A collective gasp from the capacity crowd came in round three when Molina—a 33-1 underdog going in—had Wilder on wobbly legs courtesy of a left hook. Wilder was able to clear his head, proceeding to floor Molina in the very next round before going on to eventually score the stoppage win.

Aside from Browne longing for any big fight in general, he couldn't help but wonder what could have been had he been in the ring with the defending titlist at that very moment.

browne is in no position to spout off. Chagaev isn't a real world champion so that belt is not a real title. It's a #1 contender strap. Klitschko is the WBA champion second of all Browne is as slow as a turtle & hasn't exactly lit it up in terms of competition. I'm not sure he would get past eric Molina...

No doubt about it, Browne would have knocked Wilder out.

Lucas Browne is an interesting fighter with massive power.

But, I don't think he is really physically equipped to deal with the top level of the HW division.

Athletic is not exactly the word that springs to mind...

I was live for Browne's last fight and he definitely didn't look impressive either.

I don't think for one second that Browne would have knocked Wilder out - he would have been eating jabs and right hands the whole night.

Neither Browne nor Wilder are athletic.

But Browne is bigger and somewhat more skilled than Molina, and punches harder.

I agree Browne would very likely lose to a top HW like Klitschko, Joshua or Povetkin, but I think he's good enough to knock out Wilder.

I think he hits hard enough to KO any heavyweight.

But I think he is very limited and one dimensional.

Not that Wilder is anything different...

Wilder (IMO) is athletic, in as much that he is an athlete who has been manufactured into a boxer.

I'm not saying Wilder is athletic in the way Mayweather is, just that he could have probably played pro Basketball or been a long jumper lol.
