Comments Thread For: Walters: I'll Decide Weight Soon, Still Want Lomachenko

New York - When Nicholas Walters (26-0, 21KOs) failed to make the featherweight limit for his WBA title defense against Miguel Marriaga, Walters lost his title and many felt he lost his chance to face WBO champion Vasyl Lomachenko in what many feel would be the biggest fight to make at featherweight.

Walters defeated Marriaga by unanimous decision and the undefeated fighter is undecided regarding his future weight division, but he plans to make a ruling very soon.

I generally could give less than a **** about size when people are in the same division but.... Walters is an absolute monster at 126. The guy would probably have 10lbs, an inch or two of height and an 8 inch reach advantage over Loma. If Loma takes that fight, mad props to him.

He needs to move up to 130. If he can't make weight for a title defense this is not something he should sit around thinking about. He's too big for 126.

Walters was out of the ring a good while since Donaire. I think you can him the benefit of the doubt and he can possibly still make the weight healthily, if just once more.
