fans that go pay to watch a mayweather fight, pay to see him lose. celebrities go to mayweather fights to be seen by the media. i dont believe fans go to watch him display his skills.

i think there are agencies out there who pay people to fill the arena to watch good but boring boxers (lara).

Are there people on football forums saying "so and so team needs to understand that just running the ball isn't exciting. People want to see deep passes" or on a basketball forum "so and so is so boring with all the lay ups. People want to see guys shooting 3s". Or is it just boxing where the method of victory is more important to some than the actual victory.

that's bull****. people watch mayweather because you literally can't claim to be a boxing fan if you don't watch his fights. if the primary appeal of boxing was the violent aspect, people would just watch local fighters or even something like worldstarhiphop instead of the best boxers. the bottom line is talent - if you have enough of it, everything will usually fall into place. mayweather is extraordinarily popular because he's extraordinarily talented

klitschko, ggg, kovalev, canelo dont need to talk much. they can let their fists do all the talking. but guys like malignaggi and mayweather who arent able to excite fans inside the ring excited them outside the ring by having a motor mouth at media pressers and by talking a lot of smack towards their opponents..

lara, rigo, andre ward and all up and coming fighters should enroll in an evening course in marketing 101.
Klitschko is at the top of boring as **** list bro that includes Floyd, Ward, Lara...

Yeah, for some reason boxing fans are constantly trying to ingratiate themselves with casuals.

Boxing fans just wanna see a good fight. Has nothing to do with casuals or trying to be like or please casuals or whatever. If a fight is wack and we say it's wack then it is what it is.
