Two of the most memorable moments of the last 5 years were his devastating knockout win over Paul Williams and coming up off the canvas against Chavez Jr. in the 12th round to secure the victory. He also had some really great fights with Pavlik and Macklin. I kind of wish he didn't thank the WBC after the way they treated him.

But he was a truly great champion.

I signed in after like 3 years of inactivity to post for this great warrior. He showed everybody that even after being disapproved by most, you can still be great and beat everyone they put in your path. Memorable battles and a KO for the ages, enjoy your retirement champ!

Maravilla was one of my favorite fighters. I liked his entertaining style and eagerness to take on all comers. However after he KOed Willams, he started to take one easy touch after another, while ducking true competition like GGG and Pirog.
Ah, well, anyway, good luck, Champ! You entertained us long enough. Perhaps, too long.
