Why is he afraid to fight the same-sized Kovalev, if he's willing to fight the much bigger Klitschko?

That's right, a whole slew of excuses, just like your excuse for not moving up to 175. Yet, you are now fighting Paul Smith at 168, where, as you say, "the big money fights are." This guy with 5 losses, 2 by KO, he is a PPV attraction now is he?

I understand where Ward is coming from tbh. He hasn't actually called Golovkin out as far as I'm aware. All he's said is he's not ducking and would take the fight if it were offered to him. I don't think Golovkin's people want to fight Ward and that's fine, but they need to stop mentioning him if that's the case.

Ward hasn't even mentioned Kovalev and that's what you're supposed to do if you're not interested in fighting someone. I would like to see him move up and take that fight, but he's not obliged to do it.

Really all of these fighters are full of double standards and hypocrisy.

Freedom is usually very much on-point but this thread is shameless hating. The guy is coming off a HUGE layoff, why would he want to go up in weight before finishing business at a lower weight? Golovkin called him out numerous times, he should absolutely pursue that fight first. Coming back down in weight is rarely wise and it makes no sense to jump his ass for not hopping between weights. He's not ducking or doing anything cowardly, so why act like there's something suspect in his gameplan? That's just hating. I don't think there's much doubt that he'll fight Kovalev before long.

Most boxing greats and ATGs have gone UP in weight and claimed titles, not down.

A guy Canelo's size vs a guy who won a gold medal at 178 lbs? Just seems lame. They both have guys closer to their own size they need to fight and are calling each other out for attention.

178 is fight night in the amateurs. Ward is a decent sized SMW, or at least before sitting out. Bigger than GGG, smaller than Kovalev. The GGG fight should happen at 168, GGG will still be Ward's most dangerous opponent yet (and vice versa of course).
