    NEW YORK -- The final press conference was held for Saturday's HBO doubleheader. Undefeated World Boxing Association (WBA) featherweight world champion NICHOLAS "Axe Man" WALTERS of Jamaica, and the boxing gem of Puerto Rico, undefeated No. 3 world-rated lightweight contender FELIX "El Diamante" VERDEJO and their opponents, Top-10 contender MIGUEL "The Scorpion" MARRIAGA and IVÁN "Bam Bam" NAJERA, respectively, came face to face today.       Why doesn't Verdejo get the same hype cotto did coming up on HBO?

      I cant figure it out, but it's just not there. When cotto was on his way up, there was a lot of excitement for his career.

        Maybe they want to see if he's really "the goods" as some say. I say he is.

          He will. HBO put on a lot more fights back then. Cotto started out on the Barrera/Morales, De La Hoya/Vargas and Pac/Marquez 1 undercards. This will be the beginning of Verdejo's rise. He's only 22 and has had only 17 fights.

            excitement is happening around him. it will get bigger by next year he needs a big win on hbo and the fans will follow make msg his home and he will be on his way

                I didn't see much from him yet. what's his style of boxing? I heard that he is a nice prospect I just missed out on him somehow...

                  I got some highlights in the 1st page I think... check it out!!!

                  Also... when he swings he swings with speed power & bad intentions.

                  Reminds me of another Puerto Rican fighter who is retired at the moment...

                    I'm really looking forward to seeing Verdejo. He looks like the real deal. He very well could be the best prospect in boxing right now.
